I am looking forward to seeing those who can attend the reunion and I am truly delighted that the committee took a chance in trying to locate me. I left a month after graduation and spent a year in Spain studying Spanish. I was back on the island for about a week before leaving with my parents to my Dad's duty station in Taipei, Taiwan in 1971. I have lived in Wisconsin for 24 years. I have 2 children, my daughter is 21 and studying Chinese in Beijing for the year and will continue her studies at Princeton next fall and my son is 19 and a freshman at Brown University in Rhode Island. My husband is German and a pediatric anesthesiologist. I have checked from time to time over the years at the school's website to see whether there have been any reunions, this will be my first. I live in Hanover, Maryland with my husband of 35 years whom I met in Hawaii while he was in the Navy. We have two daughters and two grandchildren that live close by. I retired from the DoD as a Human Resources Advisor almost two years ago and I'm enjoying retirement!

I thought my year at Radford was a dream. I went to Kauai to be a hippie for awhile, then joined the Air Force and was trained to be a S.E.R.E instructor. I came home in 1979. If you are interested in going on a multi-day Hawaiian Wilderness Trek, call me. The photo of me is after I ate a chili pepper, the effects are permanent.

Just hit the 4 year anniversary of retirement. It's hard to believe life can get better than this! I thought that there wasn't enough time for everything I wanted to do when I worked but I seem to have the same issue with retirement.
I hope to go to the 65th birthday celebration next year since it's in my own backyard.

I left Radford prior to my senior year, graduating from Valley High School West Des Moines,Iowa. This was quite a cultural shock for me, and it was at this time that I lost the surfboard for a rental Cessna 150. I spent another four years in Iowa going to Central College, continuing my flying and upon graduation joined the Marine Corps. I spent six years flying in the Marine Corps, getting out in 1979. I flew for several corporations for another six year joining American Airlines, April of 1986. I have been a Captain/ Check Airman on the B-767 for the past ten years. But to make a long story short, when ever someone asks me where I went to High School, I always say "I went to Radford!"
On October 10th of 2017 I flew my retirement flight fron Honolulu to Dallas/Fort Woth. After 31 years and six months with American Airlines and 48 years in aviation. On October 15th my retirement date/65th birthday I ran in the Des Moines Marathon, the Half Marathon, I am not that crazy! I have run in three halfs since then and plan on running halfs around the country in retrement.
