OTHER INFORMATION:
Waikiki Malia Hotel is on Kuhio Avenue on the block between Royal Hawaiian Avenue and Lewers Street. Waikiki Malia Hotel was formerly the OHANA Waikiki Malia by Outrigger.
In 2023, an esteemed local, family-owned real estate developer and investor, partnered with the Kawazoe Family to co-own the Waikiki Malia Hotel and it has since been renovated.
The Waikiki Malia is a 5 minutes' walk to the Royal Hawaiian Center on Kalakaua Avenue and Waikiki Beach is a 10 minutes’ walk away.
The hotel parking entrance and exit is located on the side of the hotel building on Lewers Street. It is recommended that you rent a small vehicle because the height limit is 6’3” and their garage has narrow ramps. They also offer alternate parking at the Waikiki Parking Garage, one block away from the hotel on Seaside Avenue when the hotel parking lot is full. (Inquire alternate parking upon check-in).
When exiting the hotel parking garage you can only make a right turn as it is a one-way street going Makai. You can turn left on Kuhio Avenue if you're headed toward Kapahulu Avenue or, you can do the sightseeing route and go straight to Kalakaua Avenue where you can only turn left going toward Diamond Head. If you want to head out to Ala Moana Shopping Mall, you can make a right hand turn going Ewa onto Kuhio Avenue
If you are on Kapahulu Avenue heading Mauka, you will find the famous Rainbows Drive Inn, Zippy’s Drive Inn, and Leonard Malasadas Bakery (to name a few) on the right-hand side of the street.
You willll also find that access to getting on the H-1 Freeway west-bound to get to our reunion events is easier to get on to from Kapahulu Avenue.
